One Hour Photo Challenge

September 23, 2015  •  Leave a Comment

I had to go to downtown Greenville, South Carolina this morning for some business.  Whilst there, I decided to walk down Main Street and see if I could capture some interesting images.  To challenge myself, I decided to shoot with one manual prime lens, the Samyang 85mm f/1.4.  It is a beautiful portrait lens with buttery bokeh, but that is about all I use it for.  It's far to narrow to do cityscapes.  With a minimum focusing distance of one meter, it's no where near a macro lens either.  But, I like a challenge.  I had one hour to waste, so I went to work trying to capture something I've captured so many times in a different way.  You can find more from this gallery here

My challenge to you is to do the same.  Spend one hour in an area with one prime lens.  I don't care if it is a manually focusing lens, but I would appreciate it if you would should in manual mode.  It's the only mode I use unless at a wedding.  Please let me know in the comments below how it goes.  And, share links to your work.  I'd love to see it.  :)
